MARIELENA STUART’S CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLES

Republican Candidate for the U.S. Senate 2012 (FL)

New Conservative Leadership and Courage for America

“The basis for all public policies should not rest on ambiguous catch phrases… but rather on the Commandments of God and on the Natural Law– which binds all men, for all times, and in all circumstances.” MARIELENA STUART, Republican Candidate for the U.S. Senate 2012 (FL)

ON TAX MONEY FOR ABORTION:

MARIELENA STUART:   The foundation of my Senatorial campaign is based on the inviolability of all innocent human life – born and unborn.  As U.S. Senator I will oppose the use of tax funds for abortion across the board, without exceptions.  I will lead in enlarging the current limited dialogue,  which is only focused on abortion insurance coverage– to include a frontal and vigorous attack on ALL federal anti-life legislation –most especially Title X domestic and foreign population control programs.

ON MARRIAGE:

MARIELENA STUART:  The marriage of a man and a woman was instituted by God from the beginning as a means of perpetuating the human race.  The traditional family of husband, wife, children and extended family members provides the best human environment for the upbringing of god-fearing and loyal citizens.  As U.S. Senator I will initiate and support federal legislation directed at stabilizing and supporting traditional marriage of one man and one woman, and family life.  I  will oppose all anti-family legislation designed to undermine marriage between one man and one woman and the traditional family.  I will oppose polygamy in any form.  I will oppose any attempt to redefine marriage to include homosexual partners.

ON THE ECONOMY:

MARIELENA STUART:  I will fight to restore a firm economic foundation for national re-building– and in order to secure a strong national defense.  These will be two of my national priorities as your U.S. Senator.   In addition, I will oppose any and all unconstitutional and dangerous federal programs including “Obamacare,” and work for the reduction of wasteful government spending and the elimination of pork-barrel appropriations  and  projects.

Americans have become pawns in a vast economic scheme “propped up” by borrowing money from other countries—most significantly from the Communists in Beijing.  As such, China is the biggest investor in the U.S. debt— and our most dangerous economic and military enemy.

It should be evident to every thinking American, that our nation’s debt has placed our national security at risk.

Americans are not interested in political backroom “deals”.

Americans want and deserve an honest and forthright solution to the national debt. This includes the passage of a crucial Balanced Budget Amendment.

Tax increases are not the solution to the national debt.

“Spreading the wealth” and “increasing taxes on the rich” is a socialist, if not communist approach—which does not help the poor.  In fact, it further erodes our economy.   The rich should not be punished for their success— and Americans must not tolerate policies which fundamentally attack the private sector and our free enterprise system.  We must not allow the socialist bureaucrats in Washington to divide Americans through class warfare.

ON IMMIGRATION:

MARIELENA STUART:   As a former political refugee from Communist Cuba I waited years to enter the United States legally—in spite of the torture, imprisonment and execution of my family members.  Amnesty is not the answer. Amnesty simply rewards illegal behavior. The rule of law must be upheld.  We cannot allow migratory movements to determine our immigration policies.

ON EDUCATION:

MARIELENA STUART:  As a homeschooling mother, I believe that parents are the first and primary educators of their children.  As such, they should be free to send their children to the school of their choice or to homeschool their children without being financially disenfranchised by restrictive federal educational policies.  I believe in equal educational justice for all American families.  Let the tax dollar for basic services follow the child in support of parents’ educational decisions at the elementary and secondary school levels. I  will lead in eliminating the Federal Department of Education– and allow the states to handle public education, for those that wish access to it.

ON FOREIGN POLICY:

MARIELENA STUART:   I have a worldview of America—as such, foreign policy is a priority for me as U.S. Senator.

There are important parallels between Jihadist radicalism and atheism—the latter being the political religion of the 20th and 21st  centuries, in Socialist and Communist circles.   Jihadist radicalism and atheism are currents that show disdain for our Christian founding values  and Natural Law.   They pose the same threat as Communism and Nazism—and find a safe harbor in globalist circles—such as the United Nations.  I have been fighting against the United Nations for years through my battle against the  international Socialist program of Agenda 21 (Sustainable Development).  This is why I will lead the effort to expel the United Nations from the United States—and will do everything possible to stop the funding of this enemy of America.

America must continue to be the world’s military leader.  Much like our fundamental right to self defense and the right to bear arms is a means of sending a message of strength to the enemy— the same applies when it comes to a strong military.  When the rest of the world knows that we have the best and strongest armed forces on earth—they will think twice about attacking us, here or abroad.  We are Americans—and we have a long history of military strength.  We must not allow the Socialists and globalists in Washington DC to turn our nation into an anemic Socialist state—such as that favored by the pacifists in Europe.  In the event that military action is necessary– respect for Article I Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution must be observed, as it clearly states that Congress shall have the power to declare war.

America must have a strong foreign policy to withstand a protracted struggle against forces whose aspirations are centered on a One World Socialist government and a global Islamic caliphate—the latter aiming to establish its capital in Jerusalem.  This struggle cannot involve compromise or negotiated settlement.  We must assert our First Amendment right to reject and speak out against Sharia Law—without the federal government calling it “blasphemy”.   The same applies for speaking out against Socialism—because Socialism is Phase One of Communism.

As U.S. Senator I will lead in making sure that treaties and agreements with other nations do not harbor programs that undermine America morally and economically.  The days of countries syphoning money from America without accountability to the American taxpayer are over.  Those countries who come asking for money will have to show that they will join a new conservative movement that will shut the door on corrupt trade lobbyists and globalists that continue to put America in harms way.  I will put my foreign language abilities at the service of America, to get this message across to leaders of other nations.  This effort of reformation will undoubtedly take a long time—but we must begin immediately—if we are to save America, the greatest nation on earth.

America must lead morally, economically and militarily.  Without a strong and free America, there is no hope for the rest of the world.

ON SOCIAL SECURITY:

MARIELENA STUART:  We must honor the promise made to those that have paid into the Social Security system; however, it is urgent that Americans promote and embrace a system of  private accounts—that cannot be raided by the federal government.  This also requires reformation, but it is a critical factor in moving away from dependency on the federal government.

ON POVERTY-FOCUSED INTERNATIONAL ASSISTANCE:

MARIELENA STUART:   The greatest crisis facing underdeveloped countries today is not material poverty– but the imposition of population control programs by the United Nations and its member nations– including the United States.  I will lead in eliminating all U.S funding of the United Nations and will vigorously promote expelling the United Nations from the United States.   As U.S. Senator I will initiate and support forms of legitimate foreign assistance directed at increased food production and preservation, improved sanitation and clean water projects, expanded educational opportunities, true health care programs and other positive works–  designed to release demographic pressures (in case of a catastrophe or in support of population growth) that will insure a better life for the people.  I will lead in eradicating  the harmful presence of Sustainable Development (Agenda 21).  At the same time, I will vigorously oppose all tax-funded population control programs by the Agency for International Development (USAID) including programs for abortion, abortifacients, sterilization, contraception and anti-baby propaganda. Again, I ask all Americans to join with me in this important task.

ON AID TO THE POOR:

MARIELENA STUART:  The poorest and most vulnerable of our kin today is the unborn child.  Innocent human life in the womb is the subject of attack in almost every country of the world.  Eugenic abortion directed at eliminating unborn children in the womb who are suspected of carrying a debilitating disorder is especially vicious because it places a price on the head of every human being who is already born and finds himself handicapped by age or ill health.  It is impossible to talk about budget policies for the poor, without first protecting the right of the poor to even exist.  I urge all Americans to stand with me in opposing abortion and all-life prevention tax-funded programs at home and abroad in a universal campaign to insure the rights of the unborn.

ON RELIGIOUS FREEDOM:

MARIELENA STUART:  The term “religious freedom” is a poor criteria on which to base public policy especially since “religious freedom” can easily be used to justify unjust and perverted actions, policies and programs.   For example, “religious freedom” is currently being used to replace the “right to privacy” as a means of insuring open-ended abortion in line with the landmark Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision of 1973.  The basis for all public policies should not rest on ambiguous catch phrases like “religious freedom,” but rather on the Commandments of God and on the Natural Law which binds all men, for all times, and in all circumstances.

A PERSONAL MESSAGE:

I want to be remembered on August 14, and always– as the woman who battled to bring authentic conservatism to Republican politics– by speaking the truth and standing firmly on her principles.  For never giving in to political expediency.  For being the only candidate in the 2012 U.S. Senate race in Florida that is 100% Pro-Life, without exceptions.   For loving America beyond what words can express– because America saved my life and put its Constitution in my hands, after the Communists in Cuba brutally beat me and left me for dead in a field—and denied me medical attention.

As a homeschooling mother I have traveled thousands of miles throughout Florida during the past year, with my husband and our two young children.  It has been a privilege and an honor to serve this great nation by bringing my conservative message to Floridians– and I look forward to standing on the floor of the U.S. Senate to continue my mission.

As a humble servant– and in order to accomplish this monumental task,  I have put myself  entirely in the hands of Almighty God– because it is in His hands that America rests.

I remain respectfully,

PRESS RELEASE: For Immediate Release

Thursday – August 9, 2012

A “TAKE NO PRISONERS” APPROACH: A lesson for the Florida Family Policy Council on medical and moral ethics—and what it means to be a principled conservative.
MARIELENA STUART (Marielena Montesino de Stuart)
Republican Candidate for the U.S. Senate 2012 (FL)
New Conservative Leadership and Courage for America

On August 1, the Orlando Sentinel published a statement from John Stemberger, the President and General Counsel of the Florida Family Policy Council, after I gave an “F” to the Florida Family Policy Council on the issue of abortion.  All other morality and family issues addressed by the FFPC are weakened, when the fundamental point of departure—the defense of innocent human life, is nuanced. (See Stemberger’s statement below).

It is important to note that I issued an “F” grade to the Florida Family Policy Council after the FFPC used my photo and my good name – and plastered them on the FFPC “voter guide” giving me an “F” because I “failed” to participate in their survey.   Actually, as a solid social conservative—and as an authentic 100% pro-lifer who defends the unborn, I refuse to participate in the Florida Family Policy Council survey– and I refuse to have anything to do with John Stemberger and his organization. This is consistent with my public statement, that as an authentic conservative I am on my way to Washington DC—and I will take no prisoners.

Since the beginning of my campaign for the U.S  Senate, I have made it clear both in my words and actions, that I am a “no exceptions” candidate on the question of abortion. As I would not compromise the right-to-life of children already born, so I would NEVER compromise the right-to-life of an unborn child.

As a candidate for the office of U.S. Senator I have been contacted by a number of organizations and political PACS which call themselves  “conservative” and “pro-life,” but are on record as favoring “abortion exception clauses.”  Some of these organizations and / or their leaders have endorsed candidates and career politicians who are “moderates” that compromise—not just on social and fiscal issues, but specifically on the pro-life issue.  The price these groups wish to extract from me for their endorsement and/or  support is the betrayal of the unborn child and the Pro-Life Movement, and this I will NEVER do.

Caving in to pressure for an “endorsement” or “support” from these organizations– is an erosion of what it means to be conservative.

The grassroots Pro-life Movement in the United States and around the world has not worked tirelessly for the last four decades on behalf of the unborn child– only to have the movement compromised on the altar of political expediency by these organizations.Such organizations should be shunned by any one and every one who calls himself or herself pro-life.   Any organization which holds to pro-abortion exceptions is pro-abortion – PERIOD.

John Stemberger’s statement, published by the Orlando Sentinel,  is that I “apparently misunderstood the questions”.   Actually, I understand political expediency very well, as well as what John Stemberger’s organization and his survey are all about.

Stemberger states:

In the very rare case of the life of the mother being clearly in danger such as in an ectopic pregnancy (where the developing baby gets embedded the fallopian tube) then the mother should be given the difficult ethical choice of deciding which life should continue.”

Really?

The above statement by John Stemberger appears to be in conflict with his  endorsement of politicians who have gone on record also using rape and incest as exceptions for legalized abortions.

Regarding Stemberger’s statement [emphasis added]“…the difficult ethical choice of deciding which life should continue”?! — may I suggest that John Stemberger take a basic course on medical and moral ethics.

Mr. Stemberger– a direct induced abortion, that is– a direct and intentional attack upon the life of the unborn child, is never required to preserve the life or health of a woman.

John Stemberger’s attempt to discredit this pro-life principle by including “ectopic pregnancy” as an “exception” to justify abortion– needs to be exposed.

In any pregnancy the doctor has two patients – the mother and the child.  In the case of an ectopic pregnancy, where the very young unborn child is growing in the fallopian tube, the doctor is obliged to use whatever treatment or medication is necessary to try to save both lives. In doing so, neither the physician nor the mother deliberately wills the death of the unborn child, even though, in the end the mother or child, or both, may die.  This is not considered an “exception” in abortion—because it is NOT an abortion.   Even first year students of medical and moral ethics understand, apparently what John Stemberger does not – that is, the validity of the principle of double effect.

It is time that we put a stop to the moral and medically bankrupt statements that have crept into the pro-life discourse.

The American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG) states the following:

“When extreme medical emergencies that threaten the life of the mother arise (chorioamnionitis or HELLP syndrome could be examples), AAPLOG believes in “treatment to save the mother’s life,” including premature delivery if that is indicated — obviously with the patient’s informed consent. This is NOT “abortion to save the mother’s life.” We are treating two patients, the mother and the baby, and every reasonable attempt to save the baby’s life would also be a part of our medical intervention.”

On the subject of ectopic pregnancies,  AAPLOG adds:

“The intent for the pro-life physician is not to kill the unborn child, but to preserve the life of the mother in a situation where the life of the child cannot be saved by current medical technology.”

“For these reasons the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians recognizes the unavoidable loss of human life that occurs in an ectopic pregnancy, but does not consider treatment of ectopic pregnancy by standard surgical or medical procedures to be the moral equivalent of elective abortion, or to be the wrongful taking of human life.”

I again issue an “F” to organizations like the Florida Family Policy Council, on the issue of abortion.

Politics may be called “the art of compromise,” but there are human rights and principles which admit of no compromise or modification, and the “inalienable right to life” is preeminent among these basic rights.

Clearly it is time for the grassroots Pro-Life Movement to clean house and restore the meaning of the terms “pro-life” and “the right to life” to their original luster and integrity. As your U.S. Senator, I pledge to do my part by carrying the “no-exceptions” battle into the halls of Congress. Pro-life means FOR LIFE without exception.  This must be our point of departure, if we are to be principled conservatives.

Stand with me– and vote for me on August 14.

I remain sincerely,

SOUTH PINELLAS 912 ELECTION COMMITTEE SUPPORTS MARIELENA STUART for U.S. Senate 2012.

RONALD REAGAN WOULD BE PROUD!!!

GOP Senate Race: Mack or Stuart

South Pinellas 912 Supports Stuart

OUR GOAL: To support candidates who believe in a Constitutional limited government, a free market, low taxes, and a strong national defense.

ANALYSIS: Our Election Committee was drawn from our 1,000 members. For six months, we analyzed the voting records, backgrounds, and philosophies of these candidates, to determine which candidate most closely reflects the Constitutional government we seek. The candidate who most closely reflects our philosophy is:

Marielena Stuart

Marielena Stuart is a linguist, columnist, and homeschooling mother. As a young girl she was a victim of Fidel Castro’s political persecution against her family. When she was 11 she came here legally seeking political asylum. Because of her experiences, Stuart has a keen awareness of socialism, the will to oppose it, and the skill to articulate its dangers which is creeping into our government. Has anyone in Congress spoken out against the threats from the globalist policies of our own government? We need to add Stuart’s voice!

In her speech to the Pinellas County Republican Executive Committee, Stuart got several standing ovations, and won the straw poll (*) in a landslide (Stuart 110, LeMieux 69, and Connie Mack, who didn’t appear, 12). Stuart is an outstanding conservative leader with a passion for Liberty and limited government. Support her now, and with your vote Aug 14!

Connie Mack served honorably in the Florida Legislature, and the US House of Representatives. Like most legislators of the last 30 sessions of Congress, he wrote bills to satisfy constituents and lobbyists, while globalist policies were introduced into federal and local laws in Florida. If we elect more of the same type of legislators, won’t we get the same results? In addition he refuses to communicate with us, the voters; and his wife lives in California. We need a Senator who lives here, is focused solely on Florida’s issues, and we reject the notion of candidate selection based upon a consensus of GOP party elites.

RE: MARIELENA STUART Gives an “F” to Florida Family Policy Council

Politics has been called “the art of compromise,” but there are human rights and principles which admit of no compromise or modification, and the “inalienable right to life” is preeminent among these basic rights.

Since the beginning of my campaign for the U.S Senate, I have made it clear both in my words and actions, that I am a “no exceptions” candidate on the question of abortion. MARIELENA STUART’s RESPONSE to the NATIONAL PRO-LIFE ALLIANCE

Marielena Stuart

Republican Candidate for the U.S. Senate 2012 (FL)

July 30, 2012

This is my official response to the National Pro-Life Alliance in Annandale, Virginia, regarding their request that I complete their 2012 Congressional Candidate Survey.   I will be posting a copy of this response on my official candidacy website at www.STUART2012.com,  as I have received numerous postcards from National Pro-Life Alliance supporters in Florida, asking that I reply to the survey.

I have carefully reviewed both the National Pro-Life Alliance survey and the backgrounder and explanation of questions which accompany the survey, and find that they not only conflict with my position of no exceptions in the matter of abortion, but that the texts actually conflict with one another.

For example, survey questions (1) and (10) contain an exception clause:

(1) Will you support federal legislation giving parents the right to stop any  abortion from being performed on their minor daughter, except to save the life of  the mother?

(10)  Will you support an amendment to the U.S. Constitution banning abortion  except to save the life of the mother?

Yet, the backgrounder for survey question (10) states:

(10) A Human Life Amendment to the U.S. Constitution would permanently  protect all unborn children from dying at the hands of abortionists.

Obviously this statement would be false, if the Constitutional Amendment had a life of the mother exception clause.

Unfortunately, from the context of the National Pro-Life Alliance survey, I can only conclude that the National Pro-Life Alliance supports an exception clause to both federal legislation on abortion as well as a Constitutional Amendment. This is not a valid pro-life position, and it certainly conflicts with mine.

What I find doubly disconcerting is that the National Pro-Life Alliance would support any exception on abortion, given the fact that the Roman Catholic Church holds that the direct killing of an unborn child is never permissible under any circumstances.  Such killing is forbidden by God’s Commandment “Thou shalt not kill,” and by the Natural Law which is binding on all peoples, at all times, under all circumstances.  Perhaps   Martin E. Fox, President of the National Pro-Life Alliance, at (703) 321-9200, can explain his background and any familiarity with the information presented in this paragraph.

Can the leaders of the National Pro-Life Alliance be ignorant of the harsh reality, that any exception on abortion completely eviscerates the founding principle upon which the Right-to-Life Movement is based – that the innocent human life of an unborn child is inviolate?

Furthermore, from a strictly medical point of view, modern advances in obstetrical care have made the exception for the life of the mother obsolete.

Your Congressional Candidate Survey seeks to elicit my position on key pro-life issues, so let me clearly state that:

As United States Senator, I will strive to seek mandatory federal protection of the unborn child in the form of a Constitutional Human Life Amendment without exception. Further, I pledge to use of power of my office to bring about the termination of all federal programs of population control – foreign and domestic – which fund or promote abortion, abortifacients, sterilization, contraception, and anti-natalist propaganda.

As U.S. Senator, I will oppose all forms of research and experimentation directed at the killing of the human embryo or fetus.

Concerning life issues at the other end of the life spectrum, as U.S. Senator, I will oppose all federal legislation that would legalize euthanasia, aka “mercy killing” of the elderly and the disabled.

Thank you for the opportunity to clearly set out my consistent prolife stand on these critical life and death issues which face Americans today.

For Life – without exception– I remain,

Sincerely yours,
